The North Carolina Extension Gardener handbook is a comprehensive guide to gardening in North Carolina. It provides information on a wide range of topics, including soil preparation, plant selection, planting and care, pest management, and garden design. The handbook is designed for both beginner and experienced gardeners, and covers a variety of garden types, including vegetable gardens, flower gardens, and lawns. (Section 17 fully covers Organic Farming.) It includes tips and techniques for successful gardening in North Carolina's unique climate and soil conditions, as well as resources for further information and assistance. The handbook is published by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service, which is a division of the North Carolina State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
